Half term pumpkin fun!

Twenty four children, whose ages ranged from 3 years up to 11, across four hours- really impressed me with their artistic skills!

The workshops took place in the lovely function room at The George, with children all sat around the large banqueting table ready to develop their pumpkin designs. I gave them a few ideas to get them started, but as always when I work with children, I quickly found that the groups were showing me a thing or two in the creativity stakes. We had pumpkins which were turned into pumpkin bats, many eyed spider pumpkins and even a pumpkin which was given the name ‘Beaky the Third’ (I did ask about Beaky the Second and Beaky the First however they remained inconspicuous in their absence!).

All of the children had beautiful concentration (even the 3 year old who sat and crafted for 45 minutes! So impressive!) and the time flew by.

As a result of all the fun, I’m now planning my ‘Festive Fun for Children Workshops’ (get a sneaky peek of activities on the ‘What’s on?’ page) and can’t wait to be back in Backwell with the young artists again!
